What Are We Wearing This Season

Fall is here there is no use denying it.  It's time to get our Summer lovin' selves back in gear.  There is so much to look forward to; crisp mornings, hot drinks in the afternoon, cozy sweaters, booties... And, we haven't even begun to talk about the stack of fun holidays that lead us right into winter. And winter means snow and snow means ski trips which leave us wanting for bikini weather and call for an emergency mid-winter trip to somewhere warm...and so it goes...before you know it it will be summer again!
And my point is, lets take advantage of the new season and get it together.  So here is my fashion plan...
Step 1: The Bag
Selecting a bag for the season is hard even for me. But, this season was easy. I am wearing the Crazy Horse Tote in Black. Truth be known, I hate to change my bag. I have grey leather booties that I wear practically everyday and sand colored suede booties that I can't wait to break in. Black works for both (I like to do the black and tan thing) and I need a big tote to manage all the parts of my life. The crazy horse goes edgy and boho depending on the outfit and the Jewelry.  It also works well on both coasts which is important because my job demands some bi-coastal travel in the Fall.
It must be said that the big bag is cool if you go from your car to the office to your house to...anywhere you can put your big huge bag down. But if you are running a quick errand, dropping off the kids, or have evening plans... not so much.  Who wants to show up with their whole life in a bag?  So here's what you do, keep an over sized clutch inside your tote!  Genius, I know!  Everyone wants to be that uber organized lady who "doesn't need much"  "Ta-Da"  now you are.   No one has to know that your iPad, work files, mail, raw almonds, book, over-ear headphones and everything else you can't leave home without is stashed in that BIG tote...
Step 2: Wardrobe update
Restock your go to basics!  Toss every gross worn out tank top and t-shirt you have stuffed in your closet...and no I am not talking about the perfectly worn out white tee or the amazing vintage concert shirt, obviously. I mean the stack you keep in case you plan on painting something.  Get rid of them...it feels so good.  Replace them with some good layering tanks in basic colors, a few new light weight knit sweaters, really anything that feels comfortable and easy so you can get dressed quickly and get on with your day.  Same goes for jeans and leggings, I got a new pair of black lightly distressed jeans recently...I searched high and low for the right pair...Rag and Bone is where it's at.  For the days that I am not feeling pants...I wear a high slit maxi skirt and a tee/tank knotted.
Step 3: Beauty Update
We tried something new for our Fall look book and styled her punk glam with little glossier edge than we usually do.  Try it! Fashion is moving in so many directions that there are hardly any wrong moves.  You don't have to shave the side of your head; try a deep side part and slick the back into a tight braid, add a pop lip color.  You just have to find the version of this look that works for you.  I have always loved a heavily lined eye and big lashes.  On the set of   our Spring 2014 shoot I learned about MAC pearl Glide Liner, so in love, my color is black line, it's blackish green and glittery but in a mysterious gypsy pirate sort of way.

and that's it...
There is a link to all the stuff I mentioned above except for the rag and bone jeans, thank you shopbop.com, and the make-up which I bought at the MAC store.
